How to make GYOZA – JAPANESE DUMPLINGS – Japanese Mum Cooking



It’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, Japanese pan-fried dumplings! It’s as popular as ramen and often made at home!

⭐️Gyoza
ingredients: 32 pieces
– 32 sheets Japanese Gyoza wrappers
– 100g minced pork
– 300g cabbage (or Chinese cabbage)
– 40g garlic chives (or shallots)
– 1 clove garlic
– 1 tsp ground ginger
– 1 tsp soy sauce
– 2 tsp cooking sake
– 1 tsp sesami oil
– 1 tsp Shio koji or 1/2 tsp salt
– 1 tsp oyster sauce
– 1 tbsp potato starch
– some pepper

⭐️Basic dipping sauce
– 1tbsp vinegar
– 1 tbsp soy sauce
– A few drops of La-yu (chilli oil)
OPTIONAL: some pepper

👍You can buy Japanese gyoza wrapper in Japanese grocery shops.
If you can’t find it, Chinese dumpling wrappers are ok but they are a little bit thicker so try to find Japanese one if you can!
👍Usually we use minced pork but you can use chicken, beef etc.
👍The use of Shio koji brings out the flavour of the cabbage and minced meat, making it more delicious.
