Chinese Braised Fish Fillet & Tofu (Asian Style Cooking Recipe)

Welcome to my Asian kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei and my goal is to make your cooking simple and exciting. Ever since my Mother showed me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and learn new Chinese recipes.

300g White Fish Fillet
300g Tofu
2 Spring Onions
3 Cloves Garlic
1cm Ginger
½ Tsp Red Peppercorns
500g Fish/Chicken Stock
2 Egg Whites
Salt to your taste

1. Finely chop the spring onions, garlic and ginger.
2. Cut tofu into ½cm slices.
3. Cut the fish into 1 inch chunks.
4. Break and separate the 2 egg whites
5. Dip the fish in the egg whites, then fry evenly for 2 minutes, then remove from wok.
6. Add red peppercorn, half of the spring onions, garlic and ginger. Fry for a minute.
7. Add fish into the wok and fry for few seconds.
8. Add stock and bring to the boil.
9. Add tofu and the remaining garlic, ginger, spring onion and salt.
10.Turn heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
11.Transfer onto a dish, garnish and serve.
