Chinese Beef & Mushroom in Black Bean Sauce (Asian Style Cooking Recipe)

Welcome to my Asian kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei and my goal is to make your cooking simple and exciting. Ever since my Mother showed me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and learn new Chinese recipes.

200g Beef Fillet
100g Button Mushrooms
½ Green Pepper
3 Cloves Garlic
5g Ginger
2 Spring Onions
200ml Black Bean Sauce
1 Egg
½ Green Pepper
1 Tbsp Cornflour

1. Finely chop the garlic and ginger
2. Roughly chop the spring onions
3. Cut green pepper into bite size pieces
4. Cut the mushrooms into halves or quarters depending on the size of the mushrooms
5. Cut beef into thin strips and place into a bowl
6. Break the egg onto the beef, add cooking wine, soy sauce and cornflour. Mix well and leave to marinate for 10 minutes
7. Heat 2 Tbsp of oil in a wok over high heat
8. Place beef single layered in the wok, stir fry for 2minutes or until lightly brown, remove beef from wok but leave the oil
9. Place ginger and garlic into the wok, fry for few seconds
10. Add the mushrooms and pepper, stir fry for a minute
11. Add the blackbean sauce, stir and then bring to the boil
12. Add the beef and stir fry for a minute
13. Add spring onion
14. Transfer onto a dish and serve
