back in new york city + dumpling recipe | Foodievlog

Hi Guys,

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful week. What did you guys do last week? My Dutch friend Daphne Groeneveld was in town and we did some activities outside which was really nice! I wish I would enjoy more of my time out but we have been working a lot at home!

Last week I went to New York City for a modeling job and extended the trip a couple of extra days. I was at first a little nervous to go back because I didn’t really know what to expect since I had never been back since I moved away. The travel and the 4 day quarantine was honestly not that bad and despite the cold the city did feel alive! I was grateful that I was able to travel and switch up the change of scenery a little bit.

How are you guys doing during this Pandemic? Do you feel 2021 is getting better or worse?

On the positive side, for all my Asian subscribers here I want to say Happy Lunar New Year! I wish everyone all the love, luck and good health this year. I wanted to celebrate this with you guys with a delicious home made dumpling recipe Jessie’s mum gave us.

Let me know in the comments down below if you liked todays recipe!

  1. New York is like how it was in the late 80's early 90's, when it wasn't a playground for the ultra-rich and the superficial who just liked it for going out "and stuff". There are real communities here, with real people with families who are invested in every day life…not temporary visitors who have no ties to the neighborhood and do not put any effort into improving or contributing. I like it so much better now. Good riddance, I say.

  2. So delicious, we have made twice!! Thank you to you and Max's mom for the recipe 🙂

  3. you are back to New York wow … Sanne are you orginally from New York City .. and Shifted to LA ..

  4. I love that this blog was a little bit of everything! Travel, recipe, and nighttime routine 💕

  5. When I pan fry dimsum, I mix in cornstarch with the water to add extra crunch. Also when I steam them, I place cabbage on the bottom of the steamer to avoid any sticking.
Your dumplings looked so good tho.

  6. I love a vlog w a recipe! Its super nice! Now im gunna try to make dumplings at home so thanks to you and your friend! 🥳🎉

  7. Hi Sanne! Especially with such a large following, you should not be promoting travelling during the pandemic. Whether you mean it to or not, travelling as an influencer has an effect not only immediately (ie. your tangential contribution to potentially spreading the virus, particularly coming from the hotspot that is LA) but also long-term, as you influence perceptions of COVID prevention, safe actions during a pandemic, and caring for your fellow human. On top of this, it is simply in poor taste to travel and film it when so many people are irrevocably damaged by this very action. Please use your platform for modelling safe and empathetic behaviour, now more than ever.

  8. Hi Sanne! Yes I love this vlog/recipe style video. I would have loved links to the products at the end 😍
Dumplings look delicious & I will attempt to make. Thanks!! Love & blessings 😇to you and your friends 🥕🥒🥑

  9. not another influencer traveling during the pandemic 🙁 sanne i love you. and i know that you can afford to stay in + i know that you care about human lives, so please stay in your home.

  15. Sanne, I have a quick question, how do you prevent little blemishes from wearing masks? 💗🌟💗🌟

  16. Hi Sanne! Hope all is well! I’m so happy that you were able to go back to New York! Safe travels! 💗🌟💗🌟

  17. Hi, love you Sanne! Here to say it should be Chinese New Year. Not only because the Korean are stealing Chinese cultures and attempting the "de-Chinesization", but also "Lunar" is not typically right which offends another culture. okay, originally I just want to say you are glowing in this video!

  18. haha nope looking cute in winter is not possible – especially with a mask! tip for banana bread from an Aussie – toast it and put some butter on it! sooooo good. P.S Dumplings look amazing!

  19. Such a nice, informative vlog. I love your long vlogs, so that I can enjoy my meal while watching. And you look wonderful with the red lipstick😍

  20. your cooking and food and recipes are the only thing that brings me to your channel.
